I don't know how they work but it's wonderful. I've had rough heel problems for a long time. I wear these everyday and my heels are not rough. They're not baby bottom smooth, but they are not ever going to be. These heel socks also oncce they are properly positioned snap onto the heel. These really do work well. This is one of the first winters that I have not experienced painful, cracked heels.
